March has arrived! Which means, Spring is just around the corner, and so is... all things diesel. Truck pulls, drag races, show and shines (some have already started!), and truck meets, too! Even though it really feels like Christmas was just last week, it feels as if this has been the longest off season, ever. You might agree, you might disagree! I know if you have to get your truck ready by your first event, you may be feeling like your running out of time! Anyhow, with a new month, comes our list of 'Current Obessions'! We are bringing you a list ready for Spring, and all it entails! As always, not all things on this list are diesel or truck related!

EOS ULTRA MOISTURIZING SHAVE CREAM

Ladies, you need this!! Guys, your wife or girlfriend (or chic on the side- were not condoning this, but whatever!) needs this! This is by far the best shave cream I have ever used. It's not foamy like normal shave creams, it is like a lotion; literally, like a lotion it moisturizes your skin with natural oils, shea butter and vitamins (E and C, if I remember correctly!). Its moisturizers help prevent nicks and razor burn. The best part- for me, I don't have to shave as often; you get a closer allowing you to go longer between shaves! Also, it lasts a long time!  Smooth legs that last longer? SOLD!

EARMUFFS/EAR PROTECTION

This one is more for our future Dolls, boys or girls! We made the small investment when my kids were born on these. When we attend events, they are usually truck pulls, with loud tractors and trucks. I can just hear and feel an alcohol burner's run down the track as I type this! You know what I am talking about? If you have experienced it, you won't forget it! You can feel it, you can HEAR it- they. are. so . LOUD! But, so much fun to watch. They are so loud, you see everyone near the track plugging their ears with their fingers, or putting their hands over their kids' ears! So we spent the ten to fifteen dollars and ordered them a pair each. They have come in hand more often than not. If we go shooting and the girls come, they wear them! I joked that they need them for family get togethers on my husband's side, to muffle out the laughter and dirty jokes! Ha!

BEFORE & AFTERS, PROGRESS SHOTS

I recently got stuck on an instagram account, you know, at like four thirty in the morning when I am either trying to sleep in on my day off or trying to get woke up enough to workout and get ready for work. With that being said, I have no clue, what account it was, or even if it was an account. I tend to scroll through the "explore" page of instagram and get lost. Anyone else? Just me? Okay moving on! But, I love seeing how much a lift and a set of wheels on top of a tint job can change a truck. Small changes, big changes. I like to see them all. Well, with the exception of one I saw the other day, a totalled Cummins- no one wants to see that!

PODCASTS

Y'all! I am such a nerd! Am I the only one addicted to them? Well, not addicted, but I listen to two to three a week. Sometimes while I am driving to work, sometimes while I am getting cardio in at the gym, or even while I am meal prepping and cleaning up the kitchen. For the life of me, I cannot begin to tell you what got me interested in podcasts, or why, for that matter. I even think it would be cool to be on a podcast or even host one. I literally have no clue how to do one, soooo...I will just keep listening to other people's! But I thought I would share a few of my favorites here, you know, in case someone else is in to them, too!

It is important to me, that I share the Rise and Rise Together podcasts here. If you know me or have read last month's Current Obsession list, you will know why they are on my list! (Read February's CO list here!) They are so motivating and are so easy to relate to, that their messages really hit it for me!

HERITAGE AMERICAN GOODS

This business may or may not have one of the things I am buying my husband for his birthday. Maybe. Probably so. Or myself. You know, were all about shopping and supporting small businesses! I love their hats and their shirts! What I love even more, they are local to me! They are based out of Greshamville, Georgia! (And, no, I don't expect you to have any idea where that is!) They produce clothing that celebrates agriculture in the past, present and future, with products made in the USA! I have known the owner, Andy, for a couple of years now, back when he designed a shirt for a big local event,(you may have heard of it- Diesels in Dark Corners!) and the event wanted to use one of my pictures!! He and his wife are so sweet!

We want to hear from you!!! What are your current obsessions right now? Do you have a favorite podcast? Let us see your before and after pictures!

The Diesel Doll team debated for months on whether or not to bring back the rep program. We were back and forth on whether it was a good fit for us, how many, who are we looking for.. and so forth. We decided to open our rep program back up, and we got an alomst overwhelming amount of applicants from all over, men and women, women who have diesels and women who don't (but are working towards that goal). We decided that for now, we wanted to let those who have diesels rep, while we are working on coming up with a game plan for those that don't, yet! We hate to leave anyone out, and we want you all to feel included! Below, we are going to introduce all of our reps, all eighteen of them! That is a serious record for Diesel Doll, and we love how these reps have jumped in and are already doing their thing!

We are going to list them all here, in no specific order!

We are excited to work with these ladies and gentlemen! We can't wait to see where 2019 takes them and their truck, and we can't wait to see them become more involved with Diesel Doll!

Diesel Doll's March Challenge

2/14/2019

In February's installment of our popular 'Current Obsessions' series, you read about gratitude journaling and how it has helped me! If you have not read it, you can read it here! While, obviously, we know we are a diesel truck blog and website, but we sincerely care about our readers, our followers... our friends! In case you didn't know, that is how we see you, a friend!

We want to challenge you all, our friends, to Diesel Doll's Thirty One Days of Gratitude Challenge! OOOH, that's a mouth full. But none the less, we hope you participate with us!

WHY

Like we mentioned above, we care about our friends, and we want to try to help better our lives or hopefully, yours too! There are so many benefits to gratitude journaling! Journaling your thanks cannot only make you a more thankful person, it can also make you a happier person! I know, I know. You are thinking, "AMY! I am a happy person!", and you are totally happy. We all think we are completely happy, but sometimes, we need a reminder of how happy we are. Or maybe, we are not as happy as we could be, and do not even realize it! (That last one was me, by the way! TOTALLY TRUE!)

Trust me, the first time I sat down to write out our thanks, it was actually a lot more difficult than I anticipated! But, I sat down with my cute, cute notebook, and picked one thing to write about. I believe that day it was my kids. So, as difficult as it can be, YOU CAN TOTALLY DO THIS; and you will begin to notice that you are becoming an even happier person than you thought you were.

Studies show writing down your thanks helps center your thoughts, helps release stress, brings good vibes into your life, and helps you stay focused on what is important in life. These things combined can make you a better friend, spouse, partner, coworker, parent and more! Shoot- it has even helped me be a better writer and cleaning my house is a lot easier! The house cleaning part may or not have anything to do with gratitude journaling, but, I just had to include it, because my house has been spotless since I began (okay, well as spotless as can be!)!

SO, HOW DO WE DO THIS?

GIRL! (or GUY!) We have made it so easy for you, my friend! We have created a simple printout just for you! You can print out a bunch of them, put them in a notebook or on a cute clipboard! For my house, I print out a couple of them, put them on the fridge. From there, my husband and I can both add a one or two line of thanks on each day. Once each week is done, I put it in a notebook, that way my sentimental hearted self can look back at them at the end of the month or even year. I like this because I like to see where I thanks grew from, and how we have grown through the month or year! You totally don't have to do this, but I love it. I have not decided if I will throw them away at the end of the year, or what. I don't like clutter so we will play it by ear.

I want you to do what works best for you. If you want to get your own cute notebook so you can really write, write a paragraph type entry or just to keep it a bit more private, friend, you do that! This is all about doing what works best for you! Do whichever method works best and makes you happy. I do however, suggest holding on to those entries for a bit. It really is great to look back and be reminded of thanks.

LET'S DO IT

We will start this challenge on March 1st, 2019! I want to invite you all to do this with us- for thirty one days, you can totally do THIS!! We will be posting the printout here, and will also be putting it in our newsletter, too. If your still wondering why we have decided to do this, I encourage you to read THIS, and maybe that will help you understand more why we think this is important!

We want to see what your thankful for, so starting on day one (and everyday!), we want you to use hashtag, #DieselDollMarchChallenge and tag us when posting it on Instagram, or DM us, or post it in your stories and tag us! We want to encourage you to share this with a friend that you think it would be good for!

What Sets Diesel Doll Apart

WHERE WE STARTED

Picture
btw- that's our old domain- obviously, our current is www.dieseldoll.net !
When Diesel Doll began, SIX years ago, (yep, count 'em,  SIX years ago!), it was a time where anyone and everyone was running a truck group via the internet. The vision for Diesel Doll was and has always been, ultimately the same, to bring focus to women and their diesels and women who work in the industry. Diesel Doll also, longed for unity among the women in the industry- we love to see women supporting other women, and men, for that matter. We love to see attention dropped on women who love diesels, but their truck may not be where they want it, yet; or they may not be interested in having the fanciest, or fastest truck on Instagram, but they are passionate about their truck, because its THEIRS.
Don't get me wrong, new truck pages still pop up on Instagram on. the. daily. Literally. With that in mind, what makes Diesel Doll so different than any of these other pages or groups? That is a question that the Diesel Doll team has spent months and months trying to establish a deep answer to. We have always wanted to be more than just a 'diesel truck group' or 'page about women with diesels'; by the way, there's nothing wrong with that, but we have always wanted more! Never settle for less.

The Diesel Doll team has been a major support team. They have supported the goal to add value to Diesel Doll. Granted, the team has changed a lot, over the last six years. Some women have quietly stepped away to focus on family, and some women are still involved by supporting us, still. We are still grateful for all of the women who have been a apart of Diesel Doll behind the scenes. After all, had they not been a part of Diesel Doll, if even for their "season", Diesel Doll may not be where it is today, and we wouldn't have gotten to know them!

NOW

A background goal of Diesel Doll, from the beginning, has always been to blog and write about these women we want to support and see succeed. Were proud to say that over the past few months, we have made that goal happen. We work at this daily to do more and do it better than the month before. We wanted more apparel to support our cause, and that is coming along right with the content.

If you take a look at our website, you will notice that we have began adding more and more content. We sat down together, well, you know, over text messaging and messenger because we are all spread across the US, and discussed what we wanted to see on the website. Doing features on women building trucks, or women working in the industry was always top of the list. We also decided that even though we love our diesel trucks, and love seeing builds, that we wanted to post more than just that, after all, one may say they 'eat, breath, and love diesels', but at the end of the day, we are people, we also have other interests in life. We wanted to begin adding more everyday subjects into the mix. With series like 'Current Obsessions', Gift Guides, and more, we feel like were getting somewhere. One team member said 'What about like tips and how-to's?'- great idea! We are doing that as well. Where would the world be without small businesses? A lot less creative, we say. We love seeing small businesses come up with great lines and missions, so we want to share that with you all, too! Ultimately, the sky is the limit to us!

We want those involved with Diesel Doll to feel like close friends or even family. We want you to know, that we support you. We want to see you succeed, at whatever your heart desires. We want you to do well. We want you to know, that we support you, if even from silently afar, because at times, that is life. We want you to know that if you become a part of another group, who doesn't feel the same way we do about supporting other groups and websites, we want you to know, that we support your choices, still. Sometimes in life, we have to do what we feel is best for us at the time, and we totally support that.

DIESEL DOLL & DIESEL PEACE

Maybe its just the female in us, but we want there to be a little more unity in our community. 'World Peace', (*doing our best  Miss America wave*), just kidding, how about 'Diesel Peace', but seriously, we don't all have to hold hands and frolic in wild flower field together, we don't even have to be friends, to be honest. However, we would love to see a lot less drama between certain groups.

Recently, we encountered a group, that obviously doesn't care for Diesel Doll. We won't name any names, because, well, we are better than that, but, they have made it clear to us, and to the women in their "group" that they cannot be affiliated with Diesel Doll and their group at the same time. Which, I understand where they are coming from, but at the same time, if they took the time to chat with us, or even glance at our website, they would see that their end game goals are totally different than ours, so it shouldn't be soo catty (*meow-hiss*). But, you know what? It is what it is. What they think about Diesel Doll or the DD team, means nothing to us. "Other people's opinion of me is none of my business" (from Girl, Wash Your Face), and that literally applies here. What's important here, is that we want you to know, even though they don't like us, (someone mentioned maybe threatened by us, but I just don't see that!) we oddly, still support them. They are doing their thing, and that is what makes them happy. Somehow, that makes us happy for them and their members, one day, I hope that message gets to them.

SUPPORT IS EVERYTHING

To sum it all up, we WANT to see you all do well, we want to rejoice with you in achieving goals and dreams, we want to support you! We hope that you all allow us to keep rejoicing in your achievments with you and vice versa. We are so grateful for the support we recieve from all types of women and men around the world.

For sure, there are more things that set us apart from others, but let's face it, our readers are not going to read an article that takes ALL DAY to read! We wouldn't either! This has just been on our hearts here lately, and we wanted to get it out there for you us and you.

XOXO,
Amy

PS- we love giving back to our community, and we try every year to choose a charity or a cause to raise money for, we have already picked that out, and are planning things now. We hope to make that announcement very soon. We want you to know, that giving back is very important to us. We're so grateful for all that has been given to us, all that we have worked for, we are so grateful for the opportunity to give a little back!

Current Obsessions | February 2019

2/5/2019

Written By: Amy Kent

January is long gon, (yo, it’s February, already!), those obsessions are still around, but we’re adding more to the list for February! I feel like 2019 is a year of growth for so many people, myself and Diesel Doll included! Some people are working on growing their businesses, working on building trucks, working on growing kids and hopefully, teaching them to not be little a-holes (Life goals!), and most importantly, people are working on themselves. Working on yourself can be physical or mental, often times both! It’s all growth, and if your not growing, your not living and loving life! We touch on this in this post, because we feel it’s important, not only to me, but to the Diesel Doll team, and we hope it helps you, if even a little!
January’s Obsessions list was such a hit and we had so much fun creating it, we decided to run with it by making it a monthly series! We try to brainstorm together on the list, so it isn’t all from me, it’s often a collaboration from the Diesel Doll team, Nikki, Kelsey, Kassy and myself. Which is fun, because we all bring different interests, other than diesel trucks to the table.

This month’s giveaway, may or may not contain a giveaway. The details may or may not be at the end of this blog. Maybe. Maybe not. You should really just read through and find out for yourself!
*REMEMBER- not all items on this list are trick or diesel related. And, so links may be affiliate links, meaning, Diesel Doll may make a tad bit of change off of any sale that may take place, at absolutely NO added cost to you as the consumer. Any profit obtained goes toward maintenance of www.dieseldoll.net.

GIRL, WASH YOUR FACE!

Picture
I know, your like, “This book? How original, AMY!”. But, hear me out. I was hesitant at first. I read a review on amazon and was like meh. Then my close friend at work, was like you need this in your life. Sooooo, still hesitant, the book sat in my Amazon cart for weeks. For real. Then once I hit order, the poor book sat on my bedside table for a month... or better! (Sorry, Mrs. Hollis!) Finally, one day, I picked it up, read a few pages... and stopped. Not on purpose and not because it was not good, or it wasn’t for me; maybe it’s because I have two small children who want to be the center of momma’s attention (well, three of you count my husband- kidding... or am I!? Kidding. Maybe.)! On the real, I realize now, that it wasn’t time for me to read it. I think God (or ‘divine intervention’, ‘fate’ or whatever you believe in) just knew when I would need this book and its message most.

The author, Rachel Hollis, hits on so many topics in which so many of us can relate to. Whether it’s bad relationships, bad sex, feeling like your a bad mom or wife, feeling like you are not hitting your goals on time- Hollis HITS. THEM. ALL. Most importantly, Hollis reminds (and even teaches) you to get out of your own way, so you can be happy! So you can happily chase your dreams! Click here to order your copy.. or keep reading!

GRATITUDE JOURNALING

Picture
Have you ever heard of gratitude journaling? Yea? Have you ever tried it for yourself? No? You really should try it! Starting at the beginning of the year, I set a goal for myself (no, not a New Years Reaolution, those don’t last! A GOAL!). My goal was to journal my gratitude at least three days a week. If I manage to do more, great! Many people do every day, even better; if your like me though, GIRL, YOU ARE BUSSSYYYY! We just have to remind ourselves, we’re not too busy to be grateful, so I often times make mental checklists (y’all know I love lists!) or not notes in my planner (I also love planners!) about things I want to put in my gratitude journal when I get a chance to sit down with it.

There is a couple of reasons I do this, and there’s many ways to journal your thanks. Some proven reasons to gratitude journal is actually really interesting. I googled them and read blogs about it! One of the reasons that I do it, is for its calming affects. I suffer from anxiety at times, and this really helps to center me. It’s also helpful in reducing stress- which is wonderful, I mean, what adult woman doesn’t encounter stress at times? Both of these reasons alone, really help to focus you on what is important and what you want and need more of in your life. Gratitude journaling will also help you learn more about YOURSELF! On days where you may be having a difficult time finding something to be grateful for, or your having an off day, you can flip back to previous posts, and it will help you get of your funk and help you remember that you do have a lot to be grateful for! Some people wrote paragraphs to pages, some people do one liners; do what’s best for you!

This is my next notebook to start, I like cute notebooks!!

TRUCK VIDEOS

We love truck videos. You know the ones, the ones showing off a nasty build, a SEMA build or a fast truck gettin’ it done at the track. Rolling footage, shots of the detail or paint job, the lift, under the hood, all the small details the owner thinks to put into it- we love it all. Pair that up with a “snazzy” song, you’ve got chill bumps on my arms- meaning, I love it. We hope to see a lot of them this year, with the season coming up for pulling, drag racing and shows, we’re getting excited. Event footage is also a lot of fun to watch!

MEQUIAR’S GOLD CLASS

Picture
Seriously, I love this soap. (I use the word seriously, a lot- just noticed that *insert eye roll emoji*) This is the only soap I will wash and of our vehicles in. I love it so much, I craved it when I was pregnant with my oldest, let me clarify- I craved the SMELL of it! Actually, any Mequiar’s product I have ever used smells amazing. Once weather warms up a bit more (it’s currently 65 degrees outside in Georgia, but if you know anything about well water, you know it’s cold!), anyways, once weather and the water is a bit warmer, my truck is getting a complete detail. I am taking about clay bar and waxed, waxed and waxed some more! Also, after a day of washing trucks, Mequiars will have your wedding ring shinning, ‘shinning bright like a diamon in the sky’!

But, seriously, NO, FOR REAL- Mequiar’s Gold Class soap is the best soap for washing your vehicles. Fight me! (Insert wonky emoji!)

ALEXA

Picture
Obviously. I am behind on electronic gadgets and such, that happens when your busy, sometimes! Oddly enough, my dad gifted me one, when he was somehow given two from somewhere, who knows with him. My husband likes to ask her the weather- every morning, at like 4:30, when he knows everyone else is trying to sleep. My oldest likes to hear “Awexa pway” Let it Go or anything from Moana. I enjoy letting her play my favorite music while I cook or work on Diesel Doll stuff or stuff for my other small side gig. I also like to play her games, Jeopardy (reminds of doing homework after school at my grandmother’s house!) and music trivia are both my favorites. Alexa will be a part of our truck washing days, I’ll let her DJ the day, or me and my husband will lovingly fight over what we want her to play!

That is a wrap on February’s obsession list! What are you obsessed with right now? Tell us below in the comments!

GIVEAWAY TIME

I have been thinking about it for a while now, we are planning other giveaways too, but I really feel lead to gift the book I talked about above to ONE winner. ‘Girl, Wash Your Face’ has been such a motivator for me, I feel lead to pass along some positivity. I know, we’re a diesel truck blog and site, but we’re still women, we’re still people! We still need to be encouraged and grow! We all need a little positivity in our lives, and what better way to pay it forward and spread positivity?! No other way that I can think of right now! So, the contest will begin today, and end on February 15th, 2019. We will then choose one winner, and the winner will receive ONE copy of, ‘Girl, Wash Your Face’, on me!

Kelsey Lauchner, who took her build affectionately know as Diesel Goddess to SEMA 2018, brought us a informational article on building a show truck, whether your ultimate goal is SEMA or just local events- it is a great read! With tips from people who are considered pros in the truck building aspect, like Pleasant Cook, Tony Halaris, and more! Click HERE to read Kelsey's latest article!

Adding Some Miss to Diesel

Another goal the Diesel Doll team had for this year for the website was adding features, builds and more to our content. Our first small business feature this year was our friends Missy and Amber's business- Miss Diesel. Top Influential Instagram Accounts to Follow | January 2019 Lifestyle

1/30/2019

Written By: Amy Kent

Instagram is one of the top social media platforms for not only Diesel Doll, but so. many. others. It’s easy to post to, easy to interact with others, and so on. I unfortunately, have to admit, it’s a habit to jump on Instagram on lunch breaks at work, on the treadmill at the gym, and definitely late at night or early morning when I just can’t go back to sleep!

On both my personal account and Diesel Doll’s account, I always try to make sure I am following accounts/people who add value to my day in some way, especially, if I don’t know them personally! I love to follow women who are rocking and loving life, companies that are putting great products on the market, interesting bloggers (I love healthy foodie bloggers and a good makeup tutorial!), and so on.

I compiled a list of some of my favorite accounts to follow on Instagram right now, and you should follow them too! If you have been following Diesel Doll for any amount of time now, and have seen my recent blogs, you can probably tell that I kinda love lists! Anyone else? Just me? Oh, well!

So, here’s that list! Not all of these will be truck or diesel related (SHOCKER, I know!), I mean we need alittle variety in life, y’all!
Picture

Lacey Blair

If your not following Lacey, you need to be! Not only does she and her team put together some nasty builds, she’s super motivating in many ways. She’s constantly posting motivating stories encouraging others to work hard for their goals! She owns multiple businesses and seems to be killing it with all of them! Lacey is definitely a hard working young lady, but knows how to play hard too! You can check out Lacey and her friends on her YouTube Vlog linked in the bio of her Instagram account!

Picture

Mikaela Sulak

Mikaela is another one who MOTIVATES. She probably doesn’t even know it, because she seems to be very humble- and that’s everything in today’s world! Sulak works for a pipeline company in Texas! Mikaela posts motivating quotes on her Instagram feed and stories, and she has motivating posts for weight loss journies- (girl, has given me motivation to take back control of my own health!!)! Also, she is always dressed so. CUTE!

Picture

Paleomg

Obviously, this is one of the non-truck or diesel accounts I follow- I actually only follow her on my personal account. I know, your thinking, SO WHYYY IS SHE ON THIS LIST? I’ll explain! Not only is this blogger hilariously extra, she posts some yummy recipes! I love to cook and I love to bring easy meals or snacks to truck pulls, especially if we’re “camping” over the weekend at these pulls! Eating out is expensive and just not good for you, at least not every meal! I can take some of her easier recipes, especially the ones that make a lot, because usually when we camp at pulls, it’s a lot of us, and the men in my family, can PUT. AWAY. THE. FOOD. Especially, if it’s like meat and potato type meals! Anyways, go check Juli out, listen to her rants on her stories and try some recipes!!

Perfection Wheels

Soooo, this is not a long stretch! I mean a girl can daydream! And this girl does, often at three AM when my mind or body or something will NOT let me go back to sleep! Anyways, I won’t go into detail- I’m pretty sure you can figure out what this account is all about, by looking at the business name!

Kat Fairchild

Another non-truck/diesel related account- but girls, if your slightly into makeup and hair stuff, even the slightest, you’ll want to follow! Not to mention, she fills her IG stories with laughter! (Laughter is the best medicine, and if I can laugh with you if even for a second out of a busy day- you WIN!) Kat, herself is naturally funny, but I think her entire family is, because her husband is also a nut!

This is only a FEW people I think are great to follow, my IG is loaded with funny, inspirational and creative people! Do yourself a favor add some of these people to your IG life!

Talk soon,
Amy

I seriously, love gift guides! I have been wanting to do one for Diesel Doll again, but just always run out of time, or can’t come up with any good ideas! While Valentine’s Day is just another day at my house, (we do small gifts- but spoil each other year round!), this specific guide, is made for Valentines, and I have attempted to find ideas for every stage of a relationship (got that idea from Callie Dauller), prices are budget friendly while some are more of splurge! Of course this gift guide was made with our diesel and truck loving followers in mind, but you might be surprised by some of the other stuff we snuck on! Links on images!

Sometimes the best way to show someone you love them is encourage them- send your wife to a convention for her and women like her! She’ll be able to take classes and get to know other women with common interests!

Sooo... I just can’t with these (insert all the heart eye emojis!)

There are so many great options on the market these days, but, great gifts require planning! I hope this guide helps you out a little bit on the planning process!

Let us ya know what you decide to go with, whether it’s on our list or not- we may need to add it!!

Much love,

Current Obsessions | January 2019

1/17/2019

I feel like things were interested in change all the time, that our interest can often be seasonal, depending on our moods, the weather and what is going on in our lives! I sat down and compiled a small list of things that I am obsessing over right now. From simple, inexpensive things to accessories for myself and my truck. My list is no specific order- just listed as they came to my mind!

TRUCK CHAPSTICK!

What? Yes, "truck chapstick"! I literally have a trail of my favorite chapstick from one place to another. I have a "kitchen chapstick", a "bedside table chapstick", a "gym bag chapstick"... well I am sure you get the point! But, my most important chapstick is the tube or two in my truck consoles. Does anyone else have this problem? No? So, my husband is right- it is just me! Anyways, if any of these chapsticks get out of place, it throws me off, I pull one from another place, and then another from another place, and so forth. But, the "truck chapstick", other than the chapstick I keep in my locker at work, is quite possibly, the most important, more frequently used tube. I get in the truck, and instantly reach for it. Get to where I am going, and reach for it before getting out of the car. Sitting in traffic, put a layer of chapstick on! Okay- so, I might, have a slight chapstick problem. Oh, well. My favorite is Carmex- either in the tube or in the small little can, plain- no flavors! (YUK!) I generally purchase it in packs of three, You can get it here.

Right about now, your probably thinking- this chick is cray. And I might be, but I don't have dry lips! (insert laughing emoji) For real though, this list gets better- keep scrolling!

MUSIC!

Well, music is really an all the time obsession, for me and my house. Literally. We fight over what were going to listen to, who is going to control the music on car rides and so on. But, just like obsessions can be seasonal, so is our taste in music! Right now, my playlist consists of people like Cody Jinks, The Steel Woods, Tennessee Jet (these three are AWESOME live- if they come near you, go. see. them.We actually got to meet Steel Woods and Cody Jinks in October in Atlanta!). Also, some originals like Gregg Allman, Hank Williams JR. Then my playlist can get a little crazy- I love me some Post Malone and Drake, to name a few. Does anyone else's playlist look like this? I swear, mine is all over the place, but I love all kinds of music! I actually downloaded Amazon Music, I already pay for Prime, and it is included, so might as well use it- we love it.

REALTRUCK.COM

Sooo... moment of truth- Nikki JUST told me about this site. She said it is one of her current obsessions- and I. SEE. WHY. It has everything. Well, not everything, but pretty dern close! Literally, there is so much to choose from. Currently, I want to put a set of nice seat covers on my King Ranch, it is a 2004, with captain chairs in the front. The seats are not bad at all, but the driver seat has a little wear and tear from getting in and getting out for fifteen, sixteen years now. I have tried and tried to baby it, but you know how that spot is! The choices on seat covers alone, is almost too many to deal with! You need to go check them out. They also, have an instagram, tell them Diesel Doll sent you!

TRUCK NIGHT IN AMERICA

Yep. I just listed, basically a reality television show on my obsession list. I know- kind of basic, but, whatever *throwing up my fingers into a 'W' shape*! Let me explain why I am slightly obsessed. First off, its filmed not far from my house, in Georgia. We ride fourwheelers and side by sides there all the time, and are hoping to attend the facilities Jeep event with my hub's cousin this year. Being that were really familiar with the grounds, it is really neat to see what they set up and do with the property for filming! Not to mention, I love seeing a woman come on the show and compete with the men and hold her own- win or loose! Also, there has been some pretty interesting diesel builds come on the show! The show comes on the History Channel!

BAND T-SHIRTS

I might be late on the trend-wagon, but I honestly, don't care! I recently went through my husbands closet from when he lived with his dad, years ago before we got married. I threw out a ton of stuff, but I kept ALL of his concert tees. He had so many good ones! I also realized, he has been to way, way more concerts than I have. I kept them, and am adding them into my wardrobe as we speak! We are going to a concert in April and I am already planning my outfit. I'll post some links to some of my favorites below, they may not be exactly like the ones I rescued from the hubby's closet, but they are really close!

CAR SEAT PROTECTORS

This one is more for the parents or soon to be parents that are reading. Car seat protectors. If you have infants, toddlers, or small kids still in booster chairs in the car, these are a must. Whether you have leather, vinyl, or carpet seats, they need protecting. Kids alone are rough on our vehicles, but the car seats alone.... oh. lord. Come on! You know what I am talking about! You take the car seat out, to move it to another car, to vacuum the car to clean the car seat, and you see it- the lines the weight of the car seat has left on your car's seat. Makes my heart hurt just thinking about it! These are probably one of the best things I was given as a new mom, and have sense invested in more for other cars and for a second baby's car seat. They are easy to wipe down, easy to throw in the washer, easy to use, and their padded to take most of the weight from the car seat. But, most importantly, you can still get the car seat plenty tight to be safe for you little one! This one is my favorite, you can get it here!

Seeee? After my chapstick rant, this list totally got better, right? Right! This was really fun putting this list together!

New year, new goals!

12/2/2018

We, especially me, have been thinking a lot about Diesel Doll, the website and our followers. I took a break from Diesel Doll, and just was on the back burner while Kelsey and Nikki continued to share your awesome pictures! I watched as they ran the show, and did great!

In my heart, Diesel Doll will always be my baby, one of my first start ups, and something I have enjoyed 90% of the time. At this point in my life, I feel like either, Diesel Doll is going to have to grow, or I need to hang it up. Since I am not ready to hang it up, I’m asking it to grow! Asking our followers to help us grow!

We love how many many other diesel groups there are for women, we hope to be able to support them in one way or another! Support has always been one of our goals; supporting everyone from similar small businesses, to women interested in diesels- we want to support everyone!

Our goal, beginning today, is to add more and more content to our website. We talked about doing an online magazine, or something similar, as I am no magazine editor, based on women of the industry, and we are hoping we are making our way to that goal. We will have new articles and blogs coming to you guys. We’re wanting to include more features on women like you! Men like you! Business like you! Product reviews, tips, and so much more!

we need you!

That's right! We need you! We need to hear what you like, what you want to see, who you think should be featured, and more! We want to hear from you- comments on social media, comments on articles and blog posts, messages, etc! We definitely can't do this without our followers, and our Diesel Dolls that help run things day to day!

Feel free to message, email, comment with any questions or concerns or ideas you may have! We love hearing from you guys!

We wish you a Happy Holidays and a GREAT New Year!!
-Amy
