Spring is FINALLY UPON US! That means warmer weather, well, for some parts of the country anyways. Which means truck events are starting back up, like the Ultimate Callout Challenge May 3rd-5th in Brownsburg, Indiana which is going to be KILLER this year!
But right now, we’re getting into April’s current obsessions picked out by our admin and fellow diesel doll Nikki!

**As always, not everything on this list is diesel related, which is the beauty of our community. We love that we can share our obsessions as well as hear from ya’ll on what you love! Some links may contain affiliate links, too.

Rislone Complete Fuel System Diesel Treatment

Picture
One of my current obsessions this month is the Rislone Complete Fuel System Diesel Treatment, which can be found for $11.99 at O'reilly Auto Parts or on their website.
  • Fuel injector cleaner, complete fuel system cleaner, upper cylinder lubricant, fuel stabilizer, anti-gel, water remover, diesel treatment and cetane booster.
  • Cleans and removes contaminants, fights corrosion, and fuel from gelling or going bad.
  • EZ nozzle spout for all diesel powered vehicles, including misfueling devices.
  • Affordable!

A friend recommended this product to me and I’m impressed by this stuff! He swore it helped his LB7’s injectors last longer when he had injector knock like I did. Obviously, this doesn’t fix the balance rates, but it prolongs them which helps to save money for when when the injectors finally had to get replaces months later.

Urban Decay Setting Powder

Urban Decay All Nighter setting powder is WORSHIP WORTHY and can be for $34 at Ulta or of course their website! It’s the only setting powder I’ve found that feels like velvet, seriously, no cakey feeling at all. The best part is no matter if I started sweating or I was out in the rain, it keeps my makeup flawless. Mass kudos to it!!

Picture

Gap Guards

Picture
Next on my list is the Gap Guard, because let's face it, we’re all tired of everything falling in between our seats and center consoles. Ever since I added these in my truck, there’s no losing change, lighter, phone, or wallet in between my seats anymore.

You can find this on Amazon.com for $19.99 and it is even Prime Eligible!

Netflix &...

Picture
I’ve been following Amberley Snyder, a professional barrel racer on Facebook over the years and if you haven’t heard of her or story it’s one everyone needs to hear. Short version was she had the whole world ahead of her with her barrel racing picking up, determination, and passion. I recommend following this cowgirl on Facebook, but the Netflix movie is a MUST SEE! Amberley’s story is inspiring for anyone and some of the things she faced trying to get back in the saddle, literally, shows us all to never give up.

March has arrived! Which means, Spring is just around the corner, and so is... all things diesel. Truck pulls, drag races, show and shines (some have already started!), and truck meets, too! Even though it really feels like Christmas was just last week, it feels as if this has been the longest off season, ever. You might agree, you might disagree! I know if you have to get your truck ready by your first event, you may be feeling like your running out of time! Anyhow, with a new month, comes our list of 'Current Obessions'! We are bringing you a list ready for Spring, and all it entails! As always, not all things on this list are diesel or truck related!

EOS ULTRA MOISTURIZING SHAVE CREAM

Ladies, you need this!! Guys, your wife or girlfriend (or chic on the side- were not condoning this, but whatever!) needs this! This is by far the best shave cream I have ever used. It's not foamy like normal shave creams, it is like a lotion; literally, like a lotion it moisturizes your skin with natural oils, shea butter and vitamins (E and C, if I remember correctly!). Its moisturizers help prevent nicks and razor burn. The best part- for me, I don't have to shave as often; you get a closer allowing you to go longer between shaves! Also, it lasts a long time!  Smooth legs that last longer? SOLD!

EARMUFFS/EAR PROTECTION

This one is more for our future Dolls, boys or girls! We made the small investment when my kids were born on these. When we attend events, they are usually truck pulls, with loud tractors and trucks. I can just hear and feel an alcohol burner's run down the track as I type this! You know what I am talking about? If you have experienced it, you won't forget it! You can feel it, you can HEAR it- they. are. so . LOUD! But, so much fun to watch. They are so loud, you see everyone near the track plugging their ears with their fingers, or putting their hands over their kids' ears! So we spent the ten to fifteen dollars and ordered them a pair each. They have come in hand more often than not. If we go shooting and the girls come, they wear them! I joked that they need them for family get togethers on my husband's side, to muffle out the laughter and dirty jokes! Ha!

BEFORE & AFTERS, PROGRESS SHOTS

I recently got stuck on an instagram account, you know, at like four thirty in the morning when I am either trying to sleep in on my day off or trying to get woke up enough to workout and get ready for work. With that being said, I have no clue, what account it was, or even if it was an account. I tend to scroll through the "explore" page of instagram and get lost. Anyone else? Just me? Okay moving on! But, I love seeing how much a lift and a set of wheels on top of a tint job can change a truck. Small changes, big changes. I like to see them all. Well, with the exception of one I saw the other day, a totalled Cummins- no one wants to see that!

PODCASTS

Y'all! I am such a nerd! Am I the only one addicted to them? Well, not addicted, but I listen to two to three a week. Sometimes while I am driving to work, sometimes while I am getting cardio in at the gym, or even while I am meal prepping and cleaning up the kitchen. For the life of me, I cannot begin to tell you what got me interested in podcasts, or why, for that matter. I even think it would be cool to be on a podcast or even host one. I literally have no clue how to do one, soooo...I will just keep listening to other people's! But I thought I would share a few of my favorites here, you know, in case someone else is in to them, too!

It is important to me, that I share the Rise and Rise Together podcasts here. If you know me or have read last month's Current Obsession list, you will know why they are on my list! (Read February's CO list here!) They are so motivating and are so easy to relate to, that their messages really hit it for me!

HERITAGE AMERICAN GOODS

This business may or may not have one of the things I am buying my husband for his birthday. Maybe. Probably so. Or myself. You know, were all about shopping and supporting small businesses! I love their hats and their shirts! What I love even more, they are local to me! They are based out of Greshamville, Georgia! (And, no, I don't expect you to have any idea where that is!) They produce clothing that celebrates agriculture in the past, present and future, with products made in the USA! I have known the owner, Andy, for a couple of years now, back when he designed a shirt for a big local event,(you may have heard of it- Diesels in Dark Corners!) and the event wanted to use one of my pictures!! He and his wife are so sweet!

We want to hear from you!!! What are your current obsessions right now? Do you have a favorite podcast? Let us see your before and after pictures!

Current Obsessions | February 2019

Written By: Amy Kent

January is long gon, (yo, it’s February, already!), those obsessions are still around, but we’re adding more to the list for February! I feel like 2019 is a year of growth for so many people, myself and Diesel Doll included! Some people are working on growing their businesses, working on building trucks, working on growing kids and hopefully, teaching them to not be little a-holes (Life goals!), and most importantly, people are working on themselves. Working on yourself can be physical or mental, often times both! It’s all growth, and if your not growing, your not living and loving life! We touch on this in this post, because we feel it’s important, not only to me, but to the Diesel Doll team, and we hope it helps you, if even a little!
January’s Obsessions list was such a hit and we had so much fun creating it, we decided to run with it by making it a monthly series! We try to brainstorm together on the list, so it isn’t all from me, it’s often a collaboration from the Diesel Doll team, Nikki, Kelsey, Kassy and myself. Which is fun, because we all bring different interests, other than diesel trucks to the table.

This month’s giveaway, may or may not contain a giveaway. The details may or may not be at the end of this blog. Maybe. Maybe not. You should really just read through and find out for yourself!
*REMEMBER- not all items on this list are trick or diesel related. And, so links may be affiliate links, meaning, Diesel Doll may make a tad bit of change off of any sale that may take place, at absolutely NO added cost to you as the consumer. Any profit obtained goes toward maintenance of www.dieseldoll.net.

GIRL, WASH YOUR FACE!

Picture
I know, your like, “This book? How original, AMY!”. But, hear me out. I was hesitant at first. I read a review on amazon and was like meh. Then my close friend at work, was like you need this in your life. Sooooo, still hesitant, the book sat in my Amazon cart for weeks. For real. Then once I hit order, the poor book sat on my bedside table for a month... or better! (Sorry, Mrs. Hollis!) Finally, one day, I picked it up, read a few pages... and stopped. Not on purpose and not because it was not good, or it wasn’t for me; maybe it’s because I have two small children who want to be the center of momma’s attention (well, three of you count my husband- kidding... or am I!? Kidding. Maybe.)! On the real, I realize now, that it wasn’t time for me to read it. I think God (or ‘divine intervention’, ‘fate’ or whatever you believe in) just knew when I would need this book and its message most.

The author, Rachel Hollis, hits on so many topics in which so many of us can relate to. Whether it’s bad relationships, bad sex, feeling like your a bad mom or wife, feeling like you are not hitting your goals on time- Hollis HITS. THEM. ALL. Most importantly, Hollis reminds (and even teaches) you to get out of your own way, so you can be happy! So you can happily chase your dreams! Click here to order your copy.. or keep reading!

GRATITUDE JOURNALING

Picture
Have you ever heard of gratitude journaling? Yea? Have you ever tried it for yourself? No? You really should try it! Starting at the beginning of the year, I set a goal for myself (no, not a New Years Reaolution, those don’t last! A GOAL!). My goal was to journal my gratitude at least three days a week. If I manage to do more, great! Many people do every day, even better; if your like me though, GIRL, YOU ARE BUSSSYYYY! We just have to remind ourselves, we’re not too busy to be grateful, so I often times make mental checklists (y’all know I love lists!) or not notes in my planner (I also love planners!) about things I want to put in my gratitude journal when I get a chance to sit down with it.

There is a couple of reasons I do this, and there’s many ways to journal your thanks. Some proven reasons to gratitude journal is actually really interesting. I googled them and read blogs about it! One of the reasons that I do it, is for its calming affects. I suffer from anxiety at times, and this really helps to center me. It’s also helpful in reducing stress- which is wonderful, I mean, what adult woman doesn’t encounter stress at times? Both of these reasons alone, really help to focus you on what is important and what you want and need more of in your life. Gratitude journaling will also help you learn more about YOURSELF! On days where you may be having a difficult time finding something to be grateful for, or your having an off day, you can flip back to previous posts, and it will help you get of your funk and help you remember that you do have a lot to be grateful for! Some people wrote paragraphs to pages, some people do one liners; do what’s best for you!

This is my next notebook to start, I like cute notebooks!!

TRUCK VIDEOS

We love truck videos. You know the ones, the ones showing off a nasty build, a SEMA build or a fast truck gettin’ it done at the track. Rolling footage, shots of the detail or paint job, the lift, under the hood, all the small details the owner thinks to put into it- we love it all. Pair that up with a “snazzy” song, you’ve got chill bumps on my arms- meaning, I love it. We hope to see a lot of them this year, with the season coming up for pulling, drag racing and shows, we’re getting excited. Event footage is also a lot of fun to watch!

MEQUIAR’S GOLD CLASS

Picture
Seriously, I love this soap. (I use the word seriously, a lot- just noticed that *insert eye roll emoji*) This is the only soap I will wash and of our vehicles in. I love it so much, I craved it when I was pregnant with my oldest, let me clarify- I craved the SMELL of it! Actually, any Mequiar’s product I have ever used smells amazing. Once weather warms up a bit more (it’s currently 65 degrees outside in Georgia, but if you know anything about well water, you know it’s cold!), anyways, once weather and the water is a bit warmer, my truck is getting a complete detail. I am taking about clay bar and waxed, waxed and waxed some more! Also, after a day of washing trucks, Mequiars will have your wedding ring shinning, ‘shinning bright like a diamon in the sky’!

But, seriously, NO, FOR REAL- Mequiar’s Gold Class soap is the best soap for washing your vehicles. Fight me! (Insert wonky emoji!)

ALEXA

Picture
Obviously. I am behind on electronic gadgets and such, that happens when your busy, sometimes! Oddly enough, my dad gifted me one, when he was somehow given two from somewhere, who knows with him. My husband likes to ask her the weather- every morning, at like 4:30, when he knows everyone else is trying to sleep. My oldest likes to hear “Awexa pway” Let it Go or anything from Moana. I enjoy letting her play my favorite music while I cook or work on Diesel Doll stuff or stuff for my other small side gig. I also like to play her games, Jeopardy (reminds of doing homework after school at my grandmother’s house!) and music trivia are both my favorites. Alexa will be a part of our truck washing days, I’ll let her DJ the day, or me and my husband will lovingly fight over what we want her to play!

That is a wrap on February’s obsession list! What are you obsessed with right now? Tell us below in the comments!

GIVEAWAY TIME

I have been thinking about it for a while now, we are planning other giveaways too, but I really feel lead to gift the book I talked about above to ONE winner. ‘Girl, Wash Your Face’ has been such a motivator for me, I feel lead to pass along some positivity. I know, we’re a diesel truck blog and site, but we’re still women, we’re still people! We still need to be encouraged and grow! We all need a little positivity in our lives, and what better way to pay it forward and spread positivity?! No other way that I can think of right now! So, the contest will begin today, and end on February 15th, 2019. We will then choose one winner, and the winner will receive ONE copy of, ‘Girl, Wash Your Face’, on me!

Current Obsessions | January 2019

1/17/2019

I feel like things were interested in change all the time, that our interest can often be seasonal, depending on our moods, the weather and what is going on in our lives! I sat down and compiled a small list of things that I am obsessing over right now. From simple, inexpensive things to accessories for myself and my truck. My list is no specific order- just listed as they came to my mind!

TRUCK CHAPSTICK!

What? Yes, "truck chapstick"! I literally have a trail of my favorite chapstick from one place to another. I have a "kitchen chapstick", a "bedside table chapstick", a "gym bag chapstick"... well I am sure you get the point! But, my most important chapstick is the tube or two in my truck consoles. Does anyone else have this problem? No? So, my husband is right- it is just me! Anyways, if any of these chapsticks get out of place, it throws me off, I pull one from another place, and then another from another place, and so forth. But, the "truck chapstick", other than the chapstick I keep in my locker at work, is quite possibly, the most important, more frequently used tube. I get in the truck, and instantly reach for it. Get to where I am going, and reach for it before getting out of the car. Sitting in traffic, put a layer of chapstick on! Okay- so, I might, have a slight chapstick problem. Oh, well. My favorite is Carmex- either in the tube or in the small little can, plain- no flavors! (YUK!) I generally purchase it in packs of three, You can get it here.
Picture
Right about now, your probably thinking- this chick is cray. And I might be, but I don't have dry lips! (insert laughing emoji) For real though, this list gets better- keep scrolling!

MUSIC!

Well, music is really an all the time obsession, for me and my house. Literally. We fight over what were going to listen to, who is going to control the music on car rides and so on. But, just like obsessions can be seasonal, so is our taste in music! Right now, my playlist consists of people like Cody Jinks, The Steel Woods, Tennessee Jet (these three are AWESOME live- if they come near you, go. see. them.We actually got to meet Steel Woods and Cody Jinks in October in Atlanta!). Also, some originals like Gregg Allman, Hank Williams JR. Then my playlist can get a little crazy- I love me some Post Malone and Drake, to name a few. Does anyone else's playlist look like this? I swear, mine is all over the place, but I love all kinds of music! I actually downloaded Amazon Music, I already pay for Prime, and it is included, so might as well use it- we love it.

REALTRUCK.COM

Sooo... moment of truth- Nikki JUST told me about this site. She said it is one of her current obsessions- and I. SEE. WHY. It has everything. Well, not everything, but pretty dern close! Literally, there is so much to choose from. Currently, I want to put a set of nice seat covers on my King Ranch, it is a 2004, with captain chairs in the front. The seats are not bad at all, but the driver seat has a little wear and tear from getting in and getting out for fifteen, sixteen years now. I have tried and tried to baby it, but you know how that spot is! The choices on seat covers alone, is almost too many to deal with! You need to go check them out. They also, have an instagram, tell them Diesel Doll sent you!

TRUCK NIGHT IN AMERICA

Yep. I just listed, basically a reality television show on my obsession list. I know- kind of basic, but, whatever *throwing up my fingers into a 'W' shape*! Let me explain why I am slightly obsessed. First off, its filmed not far from my house, in Georgia. We ride fourwheelers and side by sides there all the time, and are hoping to attend the facilities Jeep event with my hub's cousin this year. Being that were really familiar with the grounds, it is really neat to see what they set up and do with the property for filming! Not to mention, I love seeing a woman come on the show and compete with the men and hold her own- win or loose! Also, there has been some pretty interesting diesel builds come on the show! The show comes on the History Channel!
Picture

BAND T-SHIRTS

I might be late on the trend-wagon, but I honestly, don't care! I recently went through my husbands closet from when he lived with his dad, years ago before we got married. I threw out a ton of stuff, but I kept ALL of his concert tees. He had so many good ones! I also realized, he has been to way, way more concerts than I have. I kept them, and am adding them into my wardrobe as we speak! We are going to a concert in April and I am already planning my outfit. I'll post some links to some of my favorites below, they may not be exactly like the ones I rescued from the hubby's closet, but they are really close!

CAR SEAT PROTECTORS

This one is more for the parents or soon to be parents that are reading. Car seat protectors. If you have infants, toddlers, or small kids still in booster chairs in the car, these are a must. Whether you have leather, vinyl, or carpet seats, they need protecting. Kids alone are rough on our vehicles, but the car seats alone.... oh. lord. Come on! You know what I am talking about! You take the car seat out, to move it to another car, to vacuum the car to clean the car seat, and you see it- the lines the weight of the car seat has left on your car's seat. Makes my heart hurt just thinking about it! These are probably one of the best things I was given as a new mom, and have sense invested in more for other cars and for a second baby's car seat. They are easy to wipe down, easy to throw in the washer, easy to use, and their padded to take most of the weight from the car seat. But, most importantly, you can still get the car seat plenty tight to be safe for you little one! This one is my favorite, you can get it here!
Picture
Seeee? After my chapstick rant, this list totally got better, right? Right! This was really fun putting this list together!

What are you obsessed with right now? Tell us below!

Talk at ya soon,
